Visiting Family and Friends in Sweden
We traveled to Sweden in June of 2005 to visit Jennie's family and
friends. We arrived at Stockholm Arlanda airport 5 hours late
because we missed the connection in London due to a delay from
Dallas! But we were happy to see Charlotta and Marcus when
they picked us up to take us to Uppsala.
The first part of
the trip was spent visiting historic Uppsala. Charlotta and
Marcus showed us around the city and took us to
Uppsala Domkyrka.
We saw the resting place of Charlotta's ancestors in the church.
Yes, Charlotta's ancestor's remains are IN the tomb. The
church is even bigger than the pictures show.
Next we visited
Stockholm for a day trip. The morning started off beautiful
with sun and clear blue skies. As the day progressed, a front
moved in making it cloudy, cold, and finally rainy. We also
saw one of Jerry's favorite bands,
Kent,
at a concert in Stockholm. Thanks Charlotta and Marcus!
The rest of the
trip was spent with Jennie's family and friends. We had a
great time visiting Blankaholm, Oskarshamn, and Karslkrona.
